Luxpro Shuffle Reviews, Who Do You Trust?

by Hadley Stern Jun 01, 2005

It is pretty rare that you get two reviews that are so diametrically opposed to each other. Of course, one source, by its very name is probably a little biased. iPodLounge slams the Luxpro (albeit a review from a reader in Taiwan).

Make’s Phillip Torrone takes a closer look, and concludes that the Luxpro ain’t that bad.

I definitely see the threat to Apple here. After all, the iPod Shuffle being UI’less is all about the physical design. And that is easy to copy.

Note
Looks like iPodlounge has posted a link to the Make review (which really is a review, iPodlounge was just posting observations from a reader, not reviewing the product).

  • If a product comes out and has more features and is decently crafted for the same price, I don’t care it it’s a knock off, just like I still use Dashboard even though it’s a blatant rip off of Konfabulator.

Unfortunately, this product doesn’t seem to have quite the same quality level as the Shuffle, although I like the addition of the FM tuner and the mic recorder.
