Macintosh PowerBook 500 with PowerPC

Running a PowerPC 603e processor at 100Mhz, the PowerBook 500 came with a hard drive of between 160 and 500Mb and had a 1.44Mb floppy drive.  The RAM was expandable to 40Mb.  There was an expansion slot for a modem and an optional type II or III PC card bay.


After the release of the PowerBook 5300 with a PowerPC processor, Apple introduced the PowerBook 500 as a follow-up.  However, it was discontinued very quickly.

Introduced in August of 1995, the Macintosh PowerBook 500 with PowerPC was discontinued a short time later.
