Description

The iBook (Late 2002) ran a PowerPC 750fx v1.2 G3 processor at 700 or 800Mhz.  The three configurations had hard drives with 20, 30 or 40Gb of space.  There was a tray-loading 24x CD-ROM or a 16x 8x 8x 24x DVD/CD-RW Combo drive.  Either 16 or 32Mb of VRAM was available.

History

The new release of iBooks was faster and less expensive than the previous iBook models.  The 700Mhz configuration with CD-ROM was $999.  It was the cheapest Apple laptop in the company’s history.  The 12.1” 800Mhz configuration was $1299 and the 14.1” 800Mhz configuration was $1599.
