  • The PowerBook G4 uses the PowerPC G4 processor, initially produced by Motorola and later by Freescale, after Motorola spun off its semiconductor business under that name in 2004. 2004 is shaping up as a year of incremental improvements, at least judging by the first round of PowerBook updates. Instead of new designs or breakthrough technologies, Apple has delivered modest improvements in performance. Thumbs up! ReputationAdvocate
